Liberty’s Tata buy creates 100 jobs in Hartlepool

International metals group Liberty House’s acquisition of Tata Steel UK’s Hartlepool steelworks will create 100 new jobs.

The BBC reports that Liberty says the deal will also safeguard 140 existing jobs, while Tata will retain a third mill on the site, employing 270 people.

Liberty has already acquired Tata's speciality steelworks in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the West Midlands, and Scunthorpe's Caparo Merchant Bar mill.
