TFS Healthcare hosts fellow recruiter following terror attack

IT recruitment specialist NEXERE has temporarily moved into the offices of a neighbouring recruiter today, with its own base still behind a police cordon following Saturday night’s terror attack.

NEXERE’s head office at the Hop Exchange on Southwark Street is still inaccessible as the investigation into the van and knife attacks continues. So the firm has taken residence at its former building at nearby Two London Bridge – which TFS Healthcare has expanded within since NEXERE vacated in November.

Both companies operate independently but they share a CEO, Andrew Yetzes, and a marketing manager, Emmy Hudson. “The directors of both companies have good relationships and have worked together for years,” said Hudson. “At TFS, we have some spare desk space so we’ve done some shuffling and found [NEXERE] some computers.”

TFS had some out-of-hours staff working at Two London Bridge at the time of the attack on Saturday evening, and they have been confirmed as safe. The out-of-hours service – primarily for short-notice shift requirements – has continued, with staff working from home.

All staff at both companies worked from home on Monday, with the TFS office unusable as its emergency exit was cordoned off. This restriction has now been lifted, so some 22 NEXERE employees have joined TFS staff at Two London Bridge.

“We were working from home on Sunday evening, emailing candidates and clients explaining the situation,” said Hudson. “People have been brilliant, saying they hope we are safe; no one has had any work queries.”

Directors of both firms have spoken to staff about the incident and offered welfare support. “The mood has been a bit up and down,” admits Hudson. “We’ve tried to stay positive. We have good relationships with senior management and they are very approachable. They have spoken to us regarding any support we might need.”

There was no news this morning on when the NEXERE office would reopen, Hudson said.
