Abbeyfield home in Sunderland to create 80 jobs

Older person charity Abbeyfield is creating 80 jobs through the construction of an old people’s home in Silksworth, Sunderland.

The Sunderland Echo reports recruitment for the roles – including maintenance, chefs, front-of-house and care staff – begins later this year, with the £10m three-storey home expected to begin welcoming residents by early next year.

Abbeyfield is working in partnership with Sunderland City Council and building contractor, Tyneside-based Tolent Construction.
