FROM DECEMBER'S RECRUITER MAGAZINE

Marc Moreso, chief executive of Leisurejobs.com, offers insight into a potential role for Alan Carr, now that his talk show Chatty Man is taking a break from UK screens.

“He has certainly got the gift of the gab, rarely letting anyone else talk on his many chat and [BBC] Radio 2 shows. With his chatty, upbeat persona, Alan could be very successful in sales; perhaps a retail adviser for a department store. Or utilising his quick wit and exuberance, he could be a host at any branded restaurant, telling a joke or two as he guides customers to their tables. Good humour could lighten a long late-night shift in a kitchen; perhaps Alan could turn his hand to a sous chef role.

“Alan is also pretty nifty on his feet as his rescue operation in 2006 demonstrated when he and pal Lionel Blair helped save a man who was about to fall from a pier in Blackpool. Why not become a lifeguard, so he is equipped if the same scenario should ever occur again?

“And as he often grumbles about his weight, or laughs at himself on stage, perhaps he could turn his hand to the fitness sector. Train to be a personal trainer, trimming up for his upcoming nuptials after a recent engagement to long-term boyfriend while achieving a healthy career."
