Recruitment giant Adecco has acquired eDiscovery solutions provider D4.

D4 specialises in identifying, collecting and producing electronically stored information for use in legal proceedings, providing a range of managed data and discovery services to law firms and corporations.

New York-based D4 will be combined with the Adecco subsidiary Special Counsel, a US legal staffing and recruiting solutions provider.

Commenting on the acquisition, Special Counsel president Laurie Chamberlin said: “We are seeing tremendous growth in the eDiscovery space, and the appetite for these services continues to gain momentum within the legal community. D4 was a pioneer of eDiscovery solutions when it was founded nearly two decades ago; we are proud to bring them on board to offer a combined 45 years of legal industry know-how.”

Terms of the transaction, which closed on 3 October, have not been disclosed.
