The group chief executive of a UK engineering, rail and technical recruiter is the new co-owner of rugby union outfit Sale Sharks.

Ged Mason, the group CEO of Morson International, took up his role as Sale Sharks announced their board of directors, who met for their first board meeting last week to discuss the club’s short, medium and long-term strategies.

As well as Mason, the board of directors consists of: fellow owner Simon Orange – founder and chair of investment company CorpArq; chairman, Fran Cotton (ex-England captain and British and Irish Lions prop); Mike Ingall, CEO of Allied London; former England international rugby union player and Sale player Steve Smith; Mike Blood, a former Sale player and now head of corporate at law firm JMW; Steve Diamond, the club’s director of rugby; accountant Dermot Power; and Jon Dorsett, CEO at Sale Sharks and director at CorpAcq.
