Single mother Sacha Atherton of Hucknall in Nottinghamshire has launched a crowd-funding campaign for an event to help get her recruitment company, Premier People, off the ground.

Atherton told Recruiter she had been working as a product manager for an insurance software company. When her daughter started school last September, she wanted to reduce her hours, but was unable to do so.

Frustrated with the lack of roles with suitable timetables, she dreamt up her own recruitment company to specifically help people in her situation.

The crowd-funding campaign is to fund an introductory event to connect with her target market. She said further funding will be provided by The Prince’s Trust.

And as she has no recruitment experience of her own, her first hire will be a skilled recruiter.

The business will focus specifically on parents, primarily providing part-time and flexible roles.

She said she has already had interest from several Manchester businesses.

Her funding campaign closes just after midday today and as of 10am, 26 people had pledged a total of £425.
