International recruiter Robert Walters has promoted Giles Daubeney to deputy chief executive.

In a statement, released this morning, the group revealed Daubeney will combine his current role of chief operating officer with his new role that will see him take a more active role in the firm’s strategy, and in engaging with the City and investor relations.

The statement adds that while there are no plans for CEO Robert Walters to leave the business, the appointment has been made as part of the group’s planning for the future to ensure “appropriate succession”.

Daubeney has been with Robert Walters for 28 years, having joined in 1988 after working in recruitment for Accountancy Selection and Badenoch & Clark.
