An applicant for a role in the Zimbabwean president’s office has highlighted the advantages of background checks after being arrested for using a forged document. 

According to the country’s Chronicle, the woman pleaded guilty to one count of forgery after allegedly superimposing her name on her sister’s school certificate.

She told the Gweru Magistrates Court she was trying to get a good job and improve her standard of living after failing her own exams. 

She was remanded in custody to reappear today.
