Japanese recruiter Recruit Holdings has seen net sales increase 19.3% to ¥736.5bn (£3.95bn) year-on-year in the six months to 30 September.

The firm’s financial report, released yesterday, shows its operating income, however, decreased 2.1% to ¥52.3bn.

Gross profit also decreased to ¥304bn from ¥350.2bn.

The company noted increases in certain operating expenses, such as depreciation and amortisation, as contributing to the income decrease.

The staffing division recorded net sales of ¥412.3bn, a year-on-year increase of 25.7% and income of ¥22.8bn, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%.

It said its overseas staffing operations continue to “enjoy a moderate expansion trend”.
