The CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, has opened a Middle East office, based in Dubai.

A CIPD statement says 2,500 of its 140,000 members are in the Middle East.

Matthew Mee, CIPD Middle East managing director, leads the new office. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has been with the CIPD since April and most recently was chief executive of HR consultancy Tantalize, which was retained by the CIPD as its Middle East regional consultant.
