Crime reduction charity Nacro has launched The Aeneid Project to help employers access a vast talent pool of people with convictions.

In a statement, Nacro trustee and former cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken said up to 800,000 convictions each year are for motoring offences and about 70% end up with just a fine. However, 75% of employers used declaration of a criminal conviction to discriminate against prospective employees.

Nacro is working with, and educating, employers, and has set up an advice line to provide organisations with a free operational advice.
