Two heavyweights of the recruitment world have stepped down from their posts, with Steven Kirkpatrick leaving Cordant Group and Simon Bassett exiting EMR, part of the FiveTen Group.

Kirkpatrick, previously chief executive of the Cordant Group, has left following a restructure of the recruitment and facility services provider’s management board.

EMR also revealed yesterday that Bassett, a director at FiveTen Group since 2000, is to be succeeded by Serrol Osman. Osman joins the specialist marketing recruitment company from digital recruiter Salt, where he was a sales director leading the firm’s sales and technology divisions across both the UK and Europe.

In a statement released yesterday afternoon, Cordant revealed its restructure would see Chris Kenneally, CEO of Cordant Services division, promoted to the newly created role of group CEO, while Kirkpatrick, who was CEO of Cordant Group’s recruitment division, has left the business.

Kirkpatrick, a former Adecco UK managing director, joined Cordant in January last year to lead an ambitious and radical restructure and rebrand of the firm’s recruitment division.

Recruiter contacted Cordant for further details about Kirkpatrick’s departure and was told he will now enter a period of garden leave.

Recruiter also contacted EMR for comment. An EMR spokesperson told Recruiter Bassett had left the business but was unable to provide further details about his departure.
