We’ve all heard stories of bad, odd or downright disturbing things candidates have done in interviews but the actions of an Australian candidate landed him in legal hot water this week.

According to The Telegraph, the man allegedly left his pyjama-clad, two-year-old son alone in a car and without any water for an hour while he attended a job interview in Sydney on Wednesday.

Office workers broke into the car to save the child.

Police charged the father with leaving a child in a motor vehicle and causing emotional distress.

He faces a maximum fine of £10.4k and is due to appear in court on 5 August.

Australian states have adopted tough laws against leaving small children alone in cars after numerous cases in which toddlers died due to the sweltering heat.
