A man who ran a recruitment scam to help candidates get into the Indian police force suffered double ignominy.

Not only was his scam uncovered, but he then discovered his efforts to cheat the system had been doomed from the start.

According to the Times of India, a man by the name of Ronak sold fake online degree certificates to eager candidates. However, he failed to take account of sharp-eyed officials in the police recruitment department, who discovered that none of the five universities actually run online courses.

Even worse for Ronak, it appears that he needn’t have bothered with this elaborate charade, since having failed the physical test, the candidates wouldn’t have been shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process anyway.

Two candidates, who had apparently bought fake degree certificates from Ronak, are helping the police with their enquiries. It all goes to show that preparation is every bit as important for recruitment scamsters as it is for genuine candidates.
