Smith’s Engineering Works, Kestrel Foods create jobs in Northern Ireland

The group is investing £868k in an expansion at its Ballymena premises supported by regional development agency Invest Northern Ireland.

The funding will help Smiths recruit 12 additional staff and invest in new equipment.

Meanwhile, Invest NI is also helping UK dried fruit and nut business Kestrel Foods invest £60k as part of a £750k plus overall investment by the company.

The Invest NI funding is towards supporting Kestrel’s export growth strategy, which includes the introduction of the new production and packaging machinery, and the creation of 11 new jobs.
