Julie Towers, board director and managing director of recruitment solutions at Penna, has been appointed to newspaper The Guardian’s 2015 Public Leader editorial advisory board following nominations by her peers.

The board, comprised of eight other public leaders, provides a platform for those working in the industry to share their views on policy, management and leadership issues in their sector.

With two editorial meetings in a year, nominated editorial advisory board members will support the Guardian's Public Leader Network with planning coverage for the year ahead.

In a statement, Towers said she had worked in and with the public sector for 30 years.

“I’m incredibly passionate about policy issues and the way they are explored in the media.

“With the General Election just around the corner, it’s going to be another exciting and challenging year for the sector – so a great time for me to be involved,” she added.
