Tue, 13 Jan 2015The Hut Group’s in-house talent department will make “extensive use” of LinkedIn to unearth suitable candidates to fill more than 2,000 roles.

The online retailer’s £100m investment in an 836,000 sq ft distribution and manufacturing centre of excellence at Omega South distribution park in Appleton, Warrington will create technology, engineering, digital, graduate and supply chain roles.

Group talent director Ashley Ramrachia told Recruiter the group’s talent department will recruit for 95% of the new hires.

He said: “This team makes extensive use of LinkedIn primarily, as a means to headhunt the best ‘passive’ talent to help The Hut Group scale.

“We also use some selected job boards for more junior roles and have particularly strong direct relationships with Oxbridge and the Russell Group of Universities for our graduate hiring strategy,” he added.

“We feel that the combination of the group’s talent brand, growth, and ability to reach the best candidates directly means we rarely use agency recruiters.”
