Tue, 20 Jan 2015HS2, the company responsible for developing and promoting the UK’s new high speed rail network, will use a mix of agencies, social media and its job site to fill more than 50 procurement roles over the next year.

Recruiter’s sister title Supply Management revealed this week the firm will look “far and wide” across sectors such as construction, pharmaceuticals and oil & gas to find the “best and the brightest”. Available roles range from apprenticeships to directors, and HS2 will use social media and events to attract candidates.

An HS2 spokesperson told Recruiter the firm is to also turn to its career portal to fill the roles.

“We have a specialist in-house team and the majority of recruitment is done directly.

“That said, we work with specialist recruiters where necessary, usually just for senior roles. In terms of social media we focus on using LinkedIn – but we don’t pro-actively look for potential candidates.”
