Thu, 8 Jan 2015 | By Sarah Marquet French plant, animal and human food manufacturing group Roullier has embarked on an ambitious campaign to recruit 4,700 professionals from across the globe within five years.

Group world purchasing co-ordinator Olivier Julienne (pictured), who is leading the campaign, told Recruiter while its recruitment campaign was ambitious, “the real ambition is to double [turnover] within five years.

“And to complete this target, we need to do something about human resources – to meet and recruit new people.”

Roullier is looking for people with specific skills in business development, manufacturing and finance to be tasked with developing new markets, not necessarily in their home countries.

The group’s in-house recruitment team of 10 people launched a recruitment campaign through the company’s website, job boards and their own networks late last year, including the UK.

The team received more than 2,000 applications from the UK and Ireland alone.

Early next month, a team of about 20 managerial and director-level people will travel to London to interview 100-200 people.

Julienne says this process will be repeated for each of the 46 countries in which the group operates. “And we will renew the campaign every four months worldwide for the next four years to recruit the best people,” he added.

When asked why people should want to work for Roullier, Julienne replied: “It’s an interesting field; we feed the planet – feed humans, animals and plants. It’s a very innovative company.”

He added it would be great for personal development.

Roullier is also considering headhunting people.

The group has a presence in the UK via a joint venture with Mole Valley Farmers, and in Ireland with Grassland Agro.

Roullier currently employs 7,300 people.
