McDonald's Corporation has promoted David Fairhurst to senior vice president, international HR and strategy.

McDonald's Corporation has promoted David Fairhurst to senior vice president, international HR and strategy.

He is currently chief people officer of McDonald's Europe and will assume his new role on 1 May 2015.

He will continue to be based in London.

He first joined the company in 2005 as president of people for McDonald’s UK and was promoted to chief people officer, Northern Europe in 2007. He became chief people officer for Europe in 2011.

As well as his role with McDonald’s, he acts as a government-appointed commissioner for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and is a visiting professor at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School.
