The improving economy and resulting skills shortage is changing the way HR managers identify talent, according to research conducted by Robert Half.

The specialist recruiter’s survey, based on more than 200 interviews with HR directors across the UK, found that panel interviews were deemed to be an effective way of recruiting staff.  The survey revealed that 57% of respondents found panel interviews to be the most effective method.

The panel-interview approach meant other key people within the business were involved at an earlier stage, therefore speeding up the hiring process and reducing the risk of the candidate taking another job.

Almost all the respondents (93%) said it was challenging to find skilled, professional-level employees.
