Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines will expand its recruiting efforts in 2015, Pegasus human resources director Didem Egeli has told Recruiter.
Additional pilots are needed to fly the first tranche of Airbus A320neo and A321neos aircraft set to be received in a 100-aircraft order.
The fast-growing airline will nearly double the size of its current 500-strong workforce of pilots next year. However, while more pilots must be recruited in part to fly the increasing number of aeroplanes in Pegasus’s fleet, extra pilots are also sought to improve staff scheduling, Egeli said.
Countries in which Pegasus plans to recruit will be those with closely aligned licence and other technical professional requirements, Egeli said.
The 100-aircraft order was signed in 2012.
Pegasus is Turkey’s fastest growing privately-owned airline; the national airline Turkish Airlines (Turk Hava Yollari)is government-owned. The private airline’s motto is ‘We didn’t start civil aviation in Turkey, but we have transformed it’.
