The annual application process for civil service jobs in China has begun today [15 October] with at least 22,200 vacancies to fill, according to an article on ShanghaiDaily.com.

A statement published on the State Administration of Civil Service’s website said that candidates can apply for positions on the website from 15-24 October.

Each applicant can only apply for one post in one department. It was also reported that people found to have faked personal information to qualify to sit the civil service exam would be barred from taking the exam and prevented from applying to the civil service for five years.

The article also highlighted that civil servant jobs are popular in China because they offer relative stability.
