IT company expansion to create jobs in South Wales

Canadian IT company CGI is expanding its operation in Bridgend, South Wales, and creating 620 jobs, a statement from the Welsh government says.

The company’s Bridgend operation delivers a range of outsourcing, application services and infrastructure services to clients across the UK. The expansion, for which the company received £3.2m in business finance from the Welsh government, will take the total number of employees to 1,540, the statement says.
Meanwhile, Tenneco Walker’s new facility in Merthyr Tydfil for manufacturing car parts was opened earlier this week by the Welsh government’s economy minister, Edwina Hart. This factory will create 224 jobs.
