Wed, 6 Aug 2014 Specialist engineering and professional services recruiter Matchtech posted a positive trading update today, with net fees increasing 18% year-on-year to £45.2m in the year ending 31 July 2014.

Adrian Gunn, chief executive of the group, tells recruiter.co.uk: “I’m pleased with the numbers and double digit growth. We’re looking to increase headcount by 10% this summer off the back of a recovering UK recruitment market,” adding margins have also increased.

Matchtech has benefitted from civil construction programmes, with strong demand for skilled engineering and technology contract staff, according to the company’s results.

The increase was split evenly between the company’s two main sectors, with both engineering and professional services posting 13% growth on the previous year. There was a minor shift in the share of contract and perm business, with contract accounting for 72% of the business, up 1% on the previous financial year.

The group expects to announce its full year-end results on 14 October.
