Already some of the largest employers have warned Westminster they will pull out of the country’s shipyards on the River Clyde if Scotland leaves the UK.

Unite union representative Kenny Jordan at Babcock International said up to 20,000 jobs could be at risk by a vote for independence. BAE’s workers’ representative Henry Wilson added that £270m of planned investment could be also cancelled.
