World Cup set to kick off Domino’s Pizza’s recruitment drive

Pizza delivery brand Domino’s Pizza UK is hiring 1,300 new recruits as it prepares for a jump in orders and deliveries this summer during the football World Cup.
Tue, 20 May 2014 Pizza delivery brand Domino’s Pizza UK is hiring 1,300 new recruits as it prepares for a jump in orders and deliveries this summer during the football World Cup.

The FIFA World Cup in Brazil, which starts on 12 June, is set to be shown between 5pm and 11pm in the UK, peak dinner time, so Domino’s is looking to recruit extra drivers, as it expects its courier team to travel 13.5m miles across the country over the duration of the tournament, delivering pizzas.

There are 5,000 Domino’s pizza makers at 828 Domino’s stores to handle the demand, which means that each Domino’s chef will make 1,200 pizzas this summer, according to the company.

Stuart Lauderdale, head of operations at Domino’s Pizza UK, said that Domino’s is looking for drivers with “the right attitude towards service, and who really care about what they do”.

Anyone looking to apply for a role with Domino’s should contact their local store or contact HR at Domino’s head office.
