Wed, 19 Feb 2014Specialist recruitment consultancy Michael Page Canada has launched a new property and construction recruitment arm to complement its existing seven core market offerings.
Stephen White, managing director, Michael Page Canada, says that the business’s expansion into the property and construction industry had been motivated by strong recruitment conditions, an increasing demand from its multinational and national client base, and predictions of long-term economic stability in Canada.
“Canada has a stable economy which has been relatively unaffected by the downturn; the recruitment market mirrors this providing a fantastic platform for growth,” says White.
“In the property and construction space there is a significant amount of hiring going on. In particular, high-rise construction, industrial/institutional/commercial (ICI) and civil projects are in abundance. This demand means our clients just cannot get enough talented construction professionals.”
The new team, led by Michael Cytrynbaum, currently operates out of Toronto and Montreal and will focus on recruiting ICI and residential construction professionals at management level, including construction managers and project managers, as well as construction site superintendents for domestic, interstate and international companies.
