Clothing retailer Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group says it intends to open a further 100 stores and create 1,145 new jobs over the next 18 months.

In the same statement announcing its results for the year to 2 March 2013, it says it will now look to launch in “robust international markets such as Germany, the Middle East and Russia”.
The group, which took over retailer Peacocks in 2012, currently has more than 1,000 stores and over 12,000 staff, with 56 of those outlets and 920 of those jobs created in the last financial period.
Since 3 March, it has opened 30 stores and created 450 jobs.
The firm’s turnover grew 130.7% to £566.7m last year, with operating profit jumping from £20.6m to £58.5m, despite what it refers to as a “tough” UK retail environment.
The company was unable to comment further on recruitment plans when contacted by recruiter.co.uk.
