CTPartners to recruit for leadership roles at Kazakh sovereign wealth fund

Executive search firm CTPartners is to recruit for various leadership roles at Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth fund, which manages state-held assets worth $60bn (£37.6bn).

These include HR management, risk management, financial control, change management and business development positions.
According to CTPartners, Samruk-Kazyna “owns, either in whole or in part, most of the country’s key companies”, including its national rail system, electricity infrastructure and airline Air Astana, a joint venture with security giant BAE Systems.
Martin Mendelsohn, CTPartners’ Moscow-based partner, says the fund is “an emerging global player”.
Umirzak Shukeyev, chief executive officer and chair of the Samruk-Kazyna board, says: “Samruk-Kazyna is increasing its agility by expanding the management team.
“We intend to attract top class managers from all over the world to work with us. We are convinced that the talent and professionalism of these people will accelerate the achievement of our ambitious goals. Working with them will increase the overall professionalism of the SK group management.”
