Thu, 31 Oct 2013IT and telco recruiter ITHR Group has launched its first office in South Africa, opening in Johannesburg earlier this month, and operating alongside sister firm Swan iT Recruitment.

The company tells recruiter.co.uk that while Swan iT is already established in South Africa, this was within its very specific SAP and ERM markets, but that ITHR will now recruit for a broader range of roles. ITHR acquired Swan iT in April 2011.

ITHR Group chief executive officer Sean Gallagher says that with “its diverse cultures and somewhat unusual employment and business licensing laws”, the South African market is an “interesting opportunity” and also a market that is “fast growing, yet by European standards, relatively untapped”.

Gallagher adds that the ITHR board is committed to establishing the firm “as a truly global brand”.

ITHR Group also includes the London-based IT recruitment brand 7 Fifty Two, acquired in July 2012, which it took to Scotland last December, and also has an office in Singapore.
