Tremayne Elson (left) has been appointed new chief executive officer of Antal International in a restructure of top leadership at the global managerial and professional recruiter, as revealed today.

Antal founder and chairman Tony Goodwin remains group CEO of the company, or as he puts it “chief decider”, Goodwin confirmed to recruiter.co.uk today (10 October 2013).

Managing director Graeme Read and group finance director Paul Russell are leaving the company after, respectively, 17 and 16 years at Antal.

Elson built up Antal's Russian operation and lately has been growing Antal’s office network in Germany and the wider German-speaking areas of Austria and Switzerland, or DACH region.

In Germany, Antal currently has one company-owned office in Frankfurt and 17 franchise offices. A fluent speaker of German and Russian, Elson will also work on “the monetisation of our website – we’re doing more stuff online than ever – and ultra-specialisation into Antal”, Goodwin revealed to recruiter.co.uk.

Other changes include: the appointment of Leticia Herran to the main board in the newly-created role of sales and operations director. She is the first woman on Antal’s board and distinguished herself with leading Spain to becoming one of Antal’s most profitable regions in spite of the country’s high unemployment.

Also joining the board is Mike Ryall, MD of financial and administrative recruiter Parkside, which Antal acquired in 2011. Doug Bugie, who previously led Antal International Network from 2006-11, has rejoined Antal to advise the board and support the global growth of the franchise network.

Goodwin said his own work will focus on Antal’s franchise network: “I’ve got this vision, 2020 Vision 600 – by 2020, I want 600 offices on six continents”, consisting of a combination of company-owned and franchise-owned offices.

Goodwin told recruiter.co.uk that he also was “working on a special project in the US, to break into the US market”.

“It’s been a hell of a year,” he told recruiter.co.uk. “I’m looking forward to a quieter year in 2014. But we never let the grass grow under our feet.”

• Never mind ‘hell of a year’, it’s been a busy month at Antal, with the organisation selling its Polish business to a local recruitment firm in a £5.35m deal last week.
