Wed, 25 Sep 2013Candidates have been turning up at the addresses of Venn Group in central London after registering with Resources Plus, a company with which Venn Group says it has no connection.

On its website, www.resources-plus.co.uk, the company describes itself as “a leading specialist recruitment company within the charity, wider not-for-profit and public sectors”.

The company claims to be a “long-standing member of recruitment industry bodies” – the Recruitment & Employment Confederation and the Association of Professional Staffing Companies. However, both trade bodies tell Recruiter that this is not the case.

Among the services offered to candidates on Resources Plus’s website are free advice and legal consultation for the first six months of employment and £29.99 per month thereafter.

The site also provides links for candidates to advice on visas and setting up bank accounts.

Venn Group’s chief financial officer Keith Wilmott says he first became aware of the site when candidates turned up at the company’s offices yesterday. He says the website, which was live as recruiter.co.uk went to press, is registered with Go Daddy, a website domain hosting company.

“It is now a police matter,” he told Recruiter.
