Thu, 19 Sep 2013With 99% of businesses surveyed having recruited staff this year, Oxfordshire Employment Trends Survey reveals a buoyant labour market for the county.

Carried out by independent recruitment consultancy Allen Associates, findings show more than half (54%) of around 80 HR directors responding said they took on more than 10 staff, while 52% have taken on more permanent staff than they did last year to fill a mixture of newly-created roles and replacement positions.

Almost one-third (30%) of these roles were specialist or skilled, one-fifth (19%) administration, 10% senior management and 10% marketing.

The results mirror national surveys carried out by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and the Office for National Statistics, where all show signs of employment growth.
