Transport going places as US jobs keep rising, finds Simply Hired
The total number of job openings across the US rose again between June and July to reach a level 22.5% higher than the same month last year, with the transport industry showing particularly strong growth.
The pattern is outlined by this month's US Employment Outlook from job search engine Simply Hired. A total of 5.78m job openings found by Simply Hired follows an uptick in every month from November to May.
Transport grew by 26.1% on the month, the highest of any sector, and also topped the yearly growth chart with 57.9% job inflation.
While marginal monthly declines were seen in several sectors, 13 out of 18 industries have shown year-on-year rises of more than 5% in job posting volumes, with seven of these seeing rises over 25%. The only substantial yearly declines were seen for military (-16%) and non-profit (-48%) roles.
This week also saw the news that temporary and contract employment in the US has risen by 7.9% in 2013 so far, according to the American Staffing Association.
