Wed, 31 Jul 2013The withdrawal of legal action by an unnamed healthcare recruiter against the Government Procurement Service after it failed to win a place on a major NHS framework paved the way for that framework to go live today, Recruiter has learned.
The much-delayed GPS recruitment framework agreement for nursing and care workers (RM970), worth up to £1bn over a four-year period, should have gone live in March.
A spokesperson for the Cabinet Office, which oversees GPS, tells Recruiter that “legal proceedings have been fully withdrawn”.
The spokesperson adds that customers and suppliers have been informed of the outcome of the tender, and that the names of successful suppliers will be published online.
Following the news that the framework would go live today, recruiter.co.uk had been aware of speculation in the healthcare staffing sector that GPS had decided to go ahead with the framework despite pending legal action, and would have been prepared to add the unsuccessful recruiter to the list of accepted suppliers had its appeal been successful.
