Wed, 14 Aug 2013Recruitment body the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) is to begin work with public pension scheme National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) to assist APSCo members in understanding the process of auto-enrolling temps.

This will see NEST offering webinars to APSCo members, with NEST head of market development Richard Bartlett saying: “Employers can do a great deal to make meeting their duties as pain-free as possible.

“If you already have a workplace pension provider, our advice is not to assume that your existing provider will be able to help all of your workers, start a conversation with them early on to see what they can do.”

Bartlett notes that research has shown that only 15% of small employers are able to identify the types of workers who need to be assessed for auto-enrolment.

Since October 2012, firms have started being obliged to automatically enrol all workers aged between 22 and state pension age earning over a certain amounts into a pension scheme – click for more on pensions auto-enrolment and recruitment.
