Young and older people alike are finding it hardest to find suitable work, according to Randstad’s Workmonitor survey of the Indian jobs market.

The survey reveals that 66% of young people and 79% of older people in India are struggling to find suitable work. As a consequence, 79% of young people and 71% of older people are being forced to accept jobs below their level of education.
Across all age ranges, 73% of Indians say they would relocate abroad to find a suitable job, far more than the global average of 47%.
Despite the difficulty of finding work, only 76% of those surveyed say they would accept a temporary job. This is lower than the global average of 88%.
