Reed Job Index provides further grounds for optimism

The number of vacancies has grown by 22% since the same time last year, according to the latest Reed Job Index. The index for June saw 7% growth between the first and second quarters of this year.

Transport and logistics was particularly strong, with 15% more positions advertised. However, financial services continued to struggle.

James Reed, chairman of reed.co.uk, says: “The private sector has already played a significant role in absorbing public sector job cuts and it needs to be in good shape to offset the next round.”
