French Competition Authority looks into Adecco and Randstad

Global staffing giants Adecco and Randstad say they are co-operating with the French competition authority over investigations into their operations in the market.

Both companies today released brief statements confirming that the competition authority has “commenced an investigation”, but neither confirmed what exactly this was looking at.

Adecco’s statement notes that the investigation also includes some of “its competitors in France”.

Randstad says it is “confident that the investigation will result in a positive outcome”.

Adecco is France’s biggest market, generating a quarter of its global revenues in 2012, while around 18% of Randstad’s revenues in that year came from France, making it the group’s second biggest area after North America.
