Wed, 24 Jul 2013Engineering construction skills body the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) has opened access to the government’s talent platform Talent Retention Solution (TRS) to its members.

ECITB member firms will be able to access the online platform, which supports the recruitment, redeployment and retention of talent across the UK’s advanced manufacturing and engineering (AME) sector, for an initial 12-month trial period.

Backed by sponsors including Airbus, EDF Energy, Nissan and Siemens, TRS is also government-supported and, since November, has been available for use by student and graduate engineers.

There are already 16 member companies registered on the system, including Babcock International Group, Flour, Petrofac Facilities Management and Sellafield.

David Edwards, ECITB chief executive officer, said: “The engineering construction industry is growing and the ECITB is working towards increasing the number of skilled workers. TRS is an invaluable tool for employers providing them with access to an instant pool of talented and ‘ready-to-go’ skilled engineers.”
