Recruitment group Randstad India has announced Moorthy K Uppaluri as its new chief executive officer.

He joins from the role of global head and general manager of academic programmes at computer giants Microsoft, based in the US, and has previously worked in India both with Microsoft and global conglomerate GE.

Uppaluri will work alongside incumbent managing director and CEO E Balaji* “over the next few weeks, for a smooth leadership transition”, a Randstad press note says.

The announcement also says that Balaji “decided to step down to pursue other career opportunities outside of the organisation”. He joined Randstad India precedessor Ma Foi in 1994

*Throughout Randstad material, Balaji is given the initial E, with no full forename.

Randstad Group executive board member Robert Jan van de Kraats, who has India in his portfolio of countries, was one of several commentators speaking to Recruiter for our Global Spotlight on India in the January edition of the magazine.
