Thu, 16 May 2013Apprentices living in London can save up to £660 a year on the cost of an annual Transport for London (TfL) Oyster Travelcard.

The discount, available to all apprentices over 18 in the first year only of an approved apprenticeship course, is part of London Mayor Boris Johnson’s commitment to boost employment opportunities for young people in the capital.

TfL say they are “committed to developing and supporting apprenticeships”, and have created over 3,900 apprenticeships at the organisation itself and across its supply chain.

In December 2012, recruiter.co.uk reported the news that over 800,000 unemployed people nationally would get free bus travel across the country in January as part of a new initiative, Bus for Jobs.
