Stipenda, a new company that will support professional employer organisations (PEOs) providing outsourced employment solutions for growing firms, has launched in Boston for the US market.

The firm is launched by Solomon Williams, formerly the managing director of UK-based umbrella services and payroll company CPM People. CPM and Stipenda maintain a business partnership.

A spokesperson for the company explains that PEOs offer the option for companies looking to expand either internationally or domestically to take on new staff, with various management and HR functions outsourced.

Key areas the company will assist PEOs with include business and cultural practices, tax regimes, industrial relations, legal issues, healthcare and other living benefits.

Chief executive officer Williams says: “A lot of the demand has been coming from smaller and medium-sized companies that are keen to exploit opportunities overseas but either don’t have resources to set up and register a company in another country or that want to test the market before diving in fully.” However, expansion through PEOs can also take place domestically.

Boston was chosen as an HQ due to the strong international presence of its business community, the company says.
