Specialist jobsite Oil and Gas Job Search has been acquired by jobsite CareerBuilder for an undisclosed figure.

The acquired company was founded in 2000 and had recently launched sister site Mining Job Search. Duncan Freer, its chief executive officer, says: “Joining the CareerBuilder network offers us the chance to accelerate our growth and continue building relationships in key markets across the world.”

A company statement also says that users’ account management teams, as well as the company’s internal management team and its service as a whole, will remain unchanged.

CareerBuilder is owned by three major US media firms: Gannet, Tribune Company and The McClatchy Company.

Oil and Gas Job Search were advised on the deal by international investment bank Altium, and also took legal advice from the Manchester office of Kuits.
