Wed, 10 Apr 2013The UK's new business bank is open for applications from SMEs for a share of £300m funding.

Companies with annual global turnover of up to £100m fulfilling certain criteria can apply to the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) for funds that will be transacted by the autumn.

This is the first round of a total £1bn in funding available to be released, following the announcement of its launch in September, which was welcomed by staffing industry financiers.

BIS says that investments “will be made on terms and conditions that would be acceptable to a private sector investor and may take a variety of forms”.

Applications are open until midday on 28 February 2014, although interested parties are encouraged to submit an expression of interest by noon on 22 May.
