Professional social network LinkedIn has acquired news reader and mobile content distribution platform Pulse.

LinkedIn senior vice president for products and user experience Deep Nishar says Pulse “will help us accelerate our ability to deliver to our members the insights they need to be better at what they do, on any device”.

Pulse currently has over 30m users, of which 60% are in the US and is available in nine languages. The deal is valued at around $90m (£58.7m).
