Australia’s NSW to broaden recruiter opportunities

The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) will open up to a broader range of recruitment and HR suppliers.
Wed, 10 Apr 2013The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) will open up to a broader range of recruitment and HR suppliers.

The new Contingent Workforce Prequalification Scheme, which began last month, means “suppliers can now register to become pre-approved through a range of schemes to undertake work for NSW government up to a nominal threshold amount, dependent on the particular scheme”, according to NSW government’s ProcurePoint scheme.

This replaces the closed contract NSW Government Contract 100, a closed panel contract, “which was complex and locked out many suppliers, including small businesses”, says NSW finance and services minister Greg Pearce.

The scheme also includes new online application and self-service, simplified terms and conditions and insurance requirements, and a new standard approach to rates and reporting requirements.

Pearce concludes: “The NSW government is determined to make doing business with government easier, simpler, and more attractive.”
