This month sees the launch of Asempleo, a new trade body for the recruitment and staffing industries in Spain, including Manpower – the first time the staffing group has been part of such an organisation in that territory, according to the new body.

The launch of the trade body comes as a result of the joining together of the Asociación de Grandes Empresas de Trabajo Temporal (AGETT) and the Asociación Estatal de Empresas de Trabajo Temporal (AETT), both members of the International Confederation of Private Employment Agencies (Ciett).

Alongside Manpower, Asempleo’s 41 members include recruitment firms Adecco, Page Personnel (part of the Page Group), Randstad and Synergie. Asempleo says it represents 90% of the industry in Spain, with its members administering nearly 1.5m contracts annually.

While not being a member of either AETT or AGETT previously, Manpower has been and remains one of nine corporate members of Ciett. A full list of Ciett members, which includes the UK’s Recruitment & Employment Confederation, is available on the confederation’s website.
